Brice Garrett uses materials and objects as a source to work through ideas of preciousness, memory, and value. Traditionally trained as a jeweler and metalsmith, his work ranges across disciplines, culminating in wearables, sculptures, installations, and participatory projects. Brice received his MFA from Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Sweden and a BA from San Diego State University. He has been the recipient of multiple awards and residencies from the Museum of Arts and Design, Queens Council on the Arts, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, the Center for Craft, Manhattan Graphic Center, and most recently Tides Institute & Museum of Art. His work has been exhibited across Europe and the United States. He currently teaches jewelry and metal fabrication at Westchester Community College, the 92nd Street Y, and Brooklyn Metal Works, and has also previously taught at Pratt Institute, Syracuse University, and Long Island University.
